70.3 TRAINING..For the benefit of those signed-up for this triathlon

A 1900m course (Miler extended) is being setup.

Note:

1.start is midway up the beach (dry) 2.direction of swim is anti-clockwise. 3. Finish is midway up the beach [dry].

4.Water bottle with 1SOMS race number to be retrieved before continuing through to whatever bric you have arranged

[SAFETY: unclaimed bottles likely to result in search and future ban from 1SOMS) .

Dry area transiton on walkway if space allows.

Bring your own water bottle already numbered & paperwork.

THE ROUTE

Congrats to the 2014 IronMan 70.3'ers.. Thank you for all the positive feedback regarding the training swims and I will be sure to make this part of the planning going forward.

 

NEWSFLASH! Training for IronMan on 23 February 2014 & 23 March2014 Start 07:30am

 

(Triathlon training swims are anti-clockwise and have a dry start dry finish protocol allowing you the triathlete to slot another discipline after the swim in preparation)

 

For training my

morning cycle for training was a 40km return route to Chappies..I finally got around to STRAVA downloading it.. use it as a guide if you want

morning run for training was a 10km return route to Graafs Pool.. Realistically its easier to do a 12km with a turn at 3 Anchor Bay..

Other routes I have yet to download are

Surfski 4th - Barker-3 Anchor Bay return

Hill bike Bungalow-Victoria-Glen-Signal Hill-Kloof-Buitengracht-High Level-Kloof-Victoria.
